Rolling Stone called them the “Best Beatles Tribute on Earth.” That’s not a quote the bar band down the road earns.
About 1964 The Tribute
1964 The Tribute has been doing this since the early 1980s — over four decades of researching, refining, and performing early Beatles material with a specificity that goes well beyond the songs. Period-correct instruments. Period-correct clothing and hairstyles. Period-correct onstage banter between the four performers. The show recreates what it actually felt like to be in a room with the Beatles during their early touring years, before the screaming made it impossible to hear anything.
The setlist focuses on the 1963–1965 era — “She Loves You,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “Twist and Shout,” “A Hard Day’s Night,” “Help!” The attention to sonic authenticity is what separates 1964 from the field: Vox amps, Rickenbacker guitars, Ludwig drums. The real gear, not approximations.
Venue Info
Troy Savings Bank Music Hall at 7:30 on a Thursday night in March feels like exactly the right setting — intimate, beautiful, a room that honors music without getting in its way. The hall’s acoustics have been the secret weapon for performers here since 1875. Early Beatles material, stripped of the arena reverb, sounds extraordinary in a room like this.
