There are ways to spend Independence Day, and then there’s a free outdoor show with one of Upstate New York’s finest Americana acts in the Adirondacks. Annie in the Water plays Waterhole Music Lounge‘s annual “Party on the Patio” on Saturday, July 4, 2026 — outdoor, free, and running 6 to 10 PM. No ticket required.
Annie in the Water is a five-piece band out of Saratoga Springs who’ve been building their sound since 2011: folk, funk, reggae, and rock wound together around acoustic guitars and a rhythm section that hits considerably harder than the Americana label usually implies. Their 2025 EP Migration finds them still in that groove — unhurried but purposeful, the kind of record where the hooks take a few listens to fully settle in.
The “Party on the Patio” is a Waterhole summer tradition, and the July 4th edition brings that outdoor stage to life on one of the best nights of the year in Saranac Lake. Early July in the Adirondacks has a specific quality to it — the kind of evening that only comes around a few times a summer — and this is exactly the show to soundtrack it.
