Bleachers at CMAC in Canandaigua on June 20 is going to be one of the feel-good shows of the summer in the Finger Lakes. Jack Antonoff’s project — built on ’80s synth-pop nostalgia, stadium-sized hooks, and a genuine emotional sincerity that somehow never curdles into sentimentality — is perfectly calibrated for a summer amphitheater show. “I Wanna Get Better,” “Rollercoaster,” “How Dare You Want More” — these are songs designed to be shouted by thousands of people on a warm evening.
CMAC (Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center) in the Finger Lakes provides the summer amphitheater experience that Bleachers’ music was made for. The Canandaigua venue’s lawn and pavilion seating, combined with the surrounding vineyard landscape, create the kind of evening that defines a summer.
