There’s a rock band from Pennsylvania doing something you don’t see very often: building an entire evening-length show around The Lord of the Rings and Led Zeppelin at the same time — and making it work as a complete piece of theater.
Knorrwood is the project of brothers Wes and Joey Knorr, who spent years developing their own folk-rock sound before channeling it into something bigger. Their show, “Over the Shire & Far Away,” is exactly what it sounds like: Led Zeppelin covers woven alongside Tolkien-inspired original songs, staged with live narration, era-specific costumes, and custom visual projections that transform the room into something out of Middle-earth. It’s less tribute act and more a fully designed theatrical night out.
Knorrwood brings the full six-piece lineup to Waterhole Music Lounge in Saranac Lake on Friday, May 8 at 8:30 PM. This is a 21+ event.
The band released their debut album in early 2025, featuring original material alongside the Led Zeppelin and Lord of the Rings-inspired compositions that anchor the show. The Knorr brothers have performed this production at theaters across the northeast, and the Waterhole is an intimate room — meaning the visual projections and live narration will hit differently in a small space than they do on a large stage.
