Lake Street Dive released their major label debut Bad Self Portraits in 2014 and have built steadily from there — each album widening their sonic palette while retaining the core that makes them distinctive: Rachael Price’s powerhouse voice, the tightness of a band that’s been playing together long enough to read each other without looking. Their catalog spans jazz-inflected pop, soul, and rock, and their live sets tend to be loose enough to feel spontaneous while remaining technically locked-in. 2022’s Fun Machine and 2024 work expanded their fanbase further. An outdoor amphitheater setting in late summer is ideal for their energy.
