Standard of Living & Common Kings at Rec Room Buffalo | June 26, 2026
Buffalo’s Chippewa Street gets a proper summer kickoff on Friday, June 26, when Rec Room hosts Set The Clock Back — a five-act fundraiser show headlined by Western New York’s own Standard of Living and Grammy-nominated reggae rockers Common Kings. Doors open at 6:00 PM, it’s all ages for the main event, and there’s an after-show for those sticking around with IDs.
About the Artists
Standard of Living have been a fixture of the WNY music scene since 2004. The Amherst-bred band built their reputation on heartfelt piano pop and soaring three-part vocal harmonies — the kind of sound that turns a mid-sized room into something that feels like a very good living room. They toured alongside Teddy Geiger and Ben Jelen and shared stages with Hanson, Paramore, and Kate Voegele. This is a hometown billing in the fullest sense, and the crowd at a show like this will know every word.
Common Kings bring serious touring pedigree to the Chippewa strip. The Orange County, California reggae rock outfit — four musicians of Polynesian heritage who first connected over a backyard barbecue jam session — released their Grammy-nominated debut Lost in Paradise in 2017 and followed it with CELEBRATION in 2024. Tour credits include runs supporting Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, and Meghan Trainor. Rec Room is a very different room from those arenas. That contrast tends to make shows like this feel electric.
Local and regional acts Airview, Mixtape, and singer-songwriter Dan Erickson round out the bill. With doors at 6:00 PM and five acts on the card, you’ll want to get there from the start.
About the Venue
Rec Room is at 79 W Chippewa St, right in the middle of Buffalo’s Chippewa entertainment district. It’s a general admission room — which means get in early if you want your spot. Chippewa has plenty of options for dinner or a drink before doors, but on a Friday night in that district, give yourself extra time to find parking. It fills up fast.
