The Black Dahlia Murder formed in Waterford, Michigan in 2001 and quickly became one of American melodic death metal’s defining acts — their debut Unhallowed (2003) announced a band with the technique and songwriting instincts to elevate a genre often criticized for mechanical precision at the expense of personality. The band has maintained a remarkable touring pace for over twenty years, releasing consistently strong records and building a devoted following in the heavy music community. Their catalog is extensive and their live sets draw from across it. Trevor Strnad’s legacy continues to shape how the band is perceived and how they perform.
