If you know, you know. Waka Flocka Flame is coming to Empire Live in Albany on Friday, May 22 at 8 PM, presented by Concert Crave — and the only question is whether the building can handle it.
About Waka Flocka Flame
Waka Flocka didn’t invent trap. But Flockaveli in 2010 was the album that made the rest of the world pay attention. “Hard in da Paint” was a declaration of intent. “No Hands” with Roscoe Dash and Wale became one of the defining party records of the decade. As a founding member of Brick Squad Monopoly alongside Gucci Mane, Waka helped build the sonic blueprint that Atlanta rap has been running on ever since.
His live shows are a different animal entirely. This isn’t a rapper who stands behind a mic stand and lets the DJ do the work. Waka Flocka in a room this size is pure chaos energy — crowd surfs, mosh pits, the kind of sweat-soaked, phone-in-your-pocket nights that you’ll be telling people about the next morning. The man performs like the building personally offended him.
Venue Info
Empire Live is Albany’s mid-size standing room — about 1,500 capacity, formerly Northern Lights. No bad spots in the house, solid sound, and a bar that doesn’t make you wait twenty minutes. It’s on Central Avenue in Colonie, with a parking lot right there. For a Waka Flocka show, this is the perfect room. Big enough to have real energy, small enough that you’re going to feel every bass hit in your sternum.
