Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman at the Rochester Auditorium Theatre in April 2026. Two of the most interesting voices in contemporary indie rock and Americana on the same bill, in a seated theater — this is the kind of show you go to and then recommend to everyone you know for the next six months.
About Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman
Waxahatchee is the project of Katie Crutchfield, whose work has evolved from raw bedroom folk through to the country-inflected indie rock of Saint Cloud (2020) and Tigers Blood (2024) — a record that landed her on year-end lists across every major publication and expanded her audience significantly. MJ Lenderman plays a strain of loose, guitar-heavy indie rock that sounds like it came from a parallel decade where people cared more about feel than precision, and his 2024 album Manning Fireworks was one of the year’s most praised. The two acts share a Merge Records family connection and a sensibility that makes them genuinely complementary on a double bill.
