Your Guide to Live Music in Upstate New York

The Allman Brothers Band at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie on March 7, 1992 — just days before their now-legendary first extended run at New York City's Beacon Theatre, which began March 10. This was the reunited ABB lineup with Warren Haynes and Allen Woody, widely considered the strongest iteration of the band since the Duane Allman era. Poughkeepsie got to hear "Statesboro Blues," "Jessica," and "Whipping Post" in a 3,500-seat civic center before the Beacon residency that would become a rock and roll institution. The Hudson Valley was Allman Brothers country — close enough to the Beacon to share the vibe, far enough north to feel like upstate.
