Blues Traveler returns to SPAC — the Saratoga Performing Arts Center — this summer as part of what has become, somewhat improbably, one of the more reliable triple-bills in classic rock touring: a co-headlining run with Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors that clicked so well in 2025 that all three acts signed on for a second consecutive summer. The show is Thursday, July 30, at 6:00 PM.
About the Artists
The logic here is straightforward: three acts whose peaks overlapped in the early-to-mid 1990s, each with at least one song still embedded in American radio consciousness, touring together on the strength of goodwill and catalogs that hold up. As Gin Blossoms vocalist Robin Wilson put it: “Same tour 2 summers in a row…It is a testament to the strength of the lineup.”
Blues Traveler carries fourteen studio albums — four gold, three platinum, one six-times platinum — and a Grammy Award for “Run-Around,” which holds the record as the longest-charting single in Billboard history, a milestone the band marked thirty years on in 2025. Gin Blossoms bring the quadruple-platinum New Miserable Experience, an album that defined a specific strain of ’90s alternative radio and has aged with more grace than the era generally gets credit for. Spin Doctors round out the night celebrating the 35th anniversary of Pocket Full of Kryptonite, whose chart-topping, Grammy-nominated “Two Princes” simply refuses to leave the collective memory.
Guitarist Chan Kinchla put it plainly: “Back by popular demand! We had such a blast last summer with Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors.” Spin Doctors frontman Chris Barron noted that two consecutive summers with the same lineup is “pretty unprecedented” — a rare endorsement from within the touring circuit itself.
About SPAC
The Albany Med Health System at SPAC is the Capital Region’s premier outdoor amphitheater, located in Saratoga Springs. Total capacity is 25,000 — 5,200 sheltered seats and lawn space for roughly 20,000 more. For a triple-bill beginning at 6:00 PM on a summer night, SPAC’s configuration suits the occasion: this is a social event as much as a concert, and the setting handles both with room to spare.
