Jamey Johnson at Turning Stone Event Center | October 11, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · May 6, 2026

When a 31-date national tour ends in Verona, New York, that is not a default booking. Jamey Johnson closes the Traveling Truebadour Tour at Turning Stone Event Center on Sunday, October 11 — the final stop of an itinerary that launched in Georgia in May and has crossed more than a dozen states since.

About Jamey Johnson

The Washington Post called Johnson “one of the greatest country singers of our time.” Don Henley described him as “the nearest thing” to George Jones. Johnson holds the credibility of both Nashville’s professional songwriter class — compositions recorded by George Strait, Willie Nelson, and Merle Haggard — and the genre’s traditionalist wing, which regards him as a genuine custodian of the form rather than one of its marketing operations.

A ten-time Grammy nominee, he is one of only two country artists — the other being Kris Kristofferson — to win dual Song of the Year awards from both the ACM and CMA in the same year, for “Give It Away” and “In Color.” Grand Ole Opry member since 2022. He served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve before Nashville, which accounts for something in the directness of his best work.

The Traveling Truebadour Tour marks the 20th anniversary of The Dollar, his 2006 major label debut. Its centerpiece is Midnight Gasoline (November 2024), Johnson’s first album of original material in 14 years, inspired in part by the death of his collaborator Toby Keith. The record recalls the honky-tonk conviction that made That Lonesome Song a certified platinum record and The Guitar Song — his 2010 double album — a Rolling Stone and Spin top-five album of the year.

Johnson does not perform the same setlist twice — shows shift between solo acoustic and full band configurations, calibrated to the room. “In Color,” “High Cost of Living,” and Midnight Gasoline material, including the 2026 single “More of What Matters,” are in the conversation. The particulars of a closing night in Verona are Johnson’s call.
