He previously recorded The Mountain, a full bluegrass album, and his most recent record, Broken Branches (Capitol Records Nashville, June 2025), finds him describing the project as “mixing the bluegrass with the kickass.” That’s Bentley at his most concise, but the album earns the description.
Produced by Jon Randall and Ross Copperman, Broken Branches assembles an unusually strong guest roster: John Anderson — inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2024 — appears on the title track alongside Riley Green; Miranda Lambert contributes to “Near You”; Stephen Wilson Jr. lends his voice to “Cold Beer Can,” a stripped-down, blue-collar track that fits the album’s grounded character. Across eleven songs, Bentley wrote fewer than half the tracks, which for an artist of his standing reads less like a creative retreat and more like a deliberate act of curation.
The Off the Map Tour extends that curatorial logic into the live set. Ricky Skaggs — who joins Bentley on a reimagined version of “Free and Easy” — is featured throughout the run, along with Kaitlin Butts and Cole Goodwin. Support act assignments per individual date have not been officially confirmed at the date level; the trio’s involvement is announced for the tour overall.
