Emo Night – Rochester at Photo City Music Hall | October 30, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · August 29, 2026

Emo Night Rochester picks October 30 for its fall edition — landing the night before Halloween at Photo City Music Hall, which means the standing instruction to “break out the band tees, tighten the skinny jeans, fix the eyeliner” arrives with a seasonal amplifier already attached. Host Aaron McCann has been running this series multiple times a year at Photo City — February, April, June, August, October, and December editions are documented across 2025 and 2026 — and the August 28 Homecoming edition was the most recent installment. That one drew its own roster of guest musicians from the scene; the October 30 event follows the same format with a new guest DJ lineup drawn from active bands across the region and beyond.

About the Show

The playlist anchors on the emo and pop-punk catalog: My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, A Day To Remember, The Used, Pierce The Veil. Organizers describe the evening as “massive singalongs, nonstop dancing” — shorthand for what happens when a room full of people who genuinely know these songs hear them at serious volume. What separates this edition is the guest DJ list: Patrick Glover of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania metalcore act If Not For Me (signed to Thriller Records); Eyker Cruz of Washington D.C.’s Set For Tomorrow; Ryan Ridley of Buffalo’s Until I Wake; Tim The Truth; John Halstead of Execution Day; and Adrian Enrique of Rochester’s own Destroy // Create. These aren’t nostalgia-circuit figures — they’re active musicians from the emo-adjacent scene, spinning for an audience that likely knows their bands from the same venues they came up in. That convergence tends to change the temperature of a DJ night: the room starts to feel less like a themed event and more like a scene gathering.

Venue & Logistics

Photo City Music Hall has been operating since 2016 in Rochester’s Beechwood neighborhood at 543 Atlantic Ave, independently owned and operated — no corporate parent shaping the calendar, no algorithm-driven booking. The room features a low stage and open floor plan with unobstructed sightlines throughout, a layout that suits a dance-first crowd. The Danley/QSC sound rig was, per the venue’s own description, tuned by engineers who’ve worked rooms ten times its size. Doors open at 7 p.m. The event is 18 and over.
