SPAC was built for a band like Muse. The open sky, the pines, the lawn stretching back into the dark — it is the right frame for a trio that has always played like the stakes are cosmically high. Muse brings The Wow! Signal Tour to Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Friday, July 24 at 7:00 PM, and this is one of the bigger rock bookings the Capital Region is going to see this summer.

The Devon trio — Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme, Dominic Howard — has spent two decades making rock music that demands a stage with production to match it. Black Holes and Revelations. The Resistance. The lasers and the theatrics and the sheer volume that turned them into one of the most Grammy-winning live acts in the genre. At an outdoor amphitheater on a July night, that production is going to hit differently. An indoor arena contains it. SPAC lets it breathe.

The support bill is not an afterthought. Bloc Party has been one of the sharpest indie rock acts working since Silent Alarm came out, and The Temper Trap rounds out three acts that each earn their slot. Get there early.
