Jelly Roll’s arrival at SPAC this June is the kind of booking that doesn’t happen as often as promoters pretend — an artist who genuinely worked his way up to a 25,000-seat outdoor amphitheater rather than being parachuted into one. The Nashville native, born Jason DeFord, spent the better part of a decade releasing music to an underground following before “Son of a Sinner” pushed him onto the mainstream charts in 2022. What followed has been one of the more unusual ascents in recent memory: a rapper-turned-country artist who won over the genre establishment without sanding off the rawness that made him compelling in the first place. He plays Saratoga on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
About Jelly Roll
His 2023 album Whitsitt Chapel was the mainstream breakthrough for a catalog that lives at the intersection of rap, rock, and country. Beautifully Broken (2024) became his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, and at the 2026 Grammys it won Best Contemporary Country Album — the first album to take that newly renamed category. His collaboration with Shaboozey, “Amen,” won Best Country Duo/Group Performance the same night.
The outing is billed as The Little Ass Shed Tour, and the contrast between that name and a full SPAC production is not lost on anyone who’s been following this arc. Expect a show that leans into the confessional, gospel-tinged side of his catalog as much as the radio hits.
The Venue
SPAC holds 25,000 across its sheltered seats and its sprawling lawn, and the lawn in June is a reliable part of the Saratoga ritual — one of the few outdoor rooms in the Northeast where the state-park setting does some of the work for you. Heads up: outside chairs aren’t permitted at Live Nation shows, though lawn chair rentals can be booked in advance. The date sits squarely on the Capital Region summer concert calendar.
Opening Act
Kashus Culpepper opens — a rising country and Americana artist worth showing up early for. Doors and set times point to a 7:00 PM start.
