Wednesday, the Asheville, North Carolina five-piece whose 2023 album Rat Saw God landed on virtually every year-end list that mattered, rolls into Buffalo’s Asbury Hall on March 31, 2026, with Florida post-hardcore outfit Gouge Away in direct support.
If you missed the buzz, here’s the short version: Wednesday makes guitar music that feels genuinely dangerous again. Karly Hartzman’s songwriting swings between quiet devastation and full-volume catharsis, backed by a band that treats feedback like a fifth member.
Gouge Away is no soft opener. The Florida four-piece trades in coiled, abrasive post-hardcore that leaves marks. Their intensity makes them a natural pairing for a bill like this.
Asbury Hall, nestled inside Buffalo’s Babeville complex, is the right room for this. The converted church acoustics give heavy music room to breathe and punish in equal measure.
This is not a show that will sit politely in the background. If you care about rock music that still has something to say and isn’t afraid to say it at volume, get yourself to Delaware Avenue on the 31st.
