Elvis opened his Spring 1972 tour at Buffalo Memorial Auditorium, drawing a record-shattering crowd of 17,360 — the largest concert attendance the venue had ever seen. An MGM camera crew was on hand studying Elvis’s stage movements as pre-production for what would become Elvis on Tour, the Golden Globe-winning documentary. The tour debuted “Burning Love” and “For the Good Times” in the live set, capturing a performer still capable of electrifying an arena.
