On October 7, 1976, Jackson Browne played the Dome Arena in Henrietta, a Thursday-night date presented by John Scher and WCMF 96.5 FM with Orleans, fresh off their hit “Still the One,” on the bill. Billboard’s Top Boxoffice chart counted 4,265 tickets sold at $6 to $7 for a $26,375 gross, while the newspaper ad that ran in the Democrat and Chronicle that week billed the headliner, memorably, as “Jackson Brown.” Fifty years later, it stands as a rare snapshot of one of rock’s great songwriters road-testing a landmark album on a Rochester-area stage.
