Paul Simon brought the Born at the Right Time Tour to Buffalo, supporting The Rhythm of the Saints — his Brazilian-influenced follow-up to Graceland. The tour featured a large ensemble including Brazilian percussionists from Olodum. Simon was at the peak of his solo powers, weaving together material from Rhythm of the Saints, Graceland, and Simon & Garfunkel classics. The tour would culminate in the legendary free Concert in Central Park that August, drawing an estimated 750,000 people.
