The Police at Carrier Dome, Syracuse — April 16, 1982

[uc_otd_hero_meta]

The Police brought the Ghost in the Machine Tour to the Carrier Dome with staggering numbers: 32,396 tickets sold for a gross of $320,970 — the highest single-show gross of that entire tour leg. Black Uhuru opened. The band brought a horn section called The Chops to replicate the brass-heavy sound of Ghost in the Machine, and the setlist leaned heavily on the new album alongside anthems like “Roxanne,” “Message in a Bottle,” and “Don’t Stand So Close to Me.”
