On November 6, 2001, Widespread Panic played Syracuse’s Landmark Theatre, a Tuesday-night show that the band released in December 2025 as Syracuse 2001, the nineteenth title in its archive series, mixed and mastered by longtime producer John Keane from the original tapes. The first set opened on “Little Lilly” and ran through “Henry Parsons Died” and “Ride Me High”; the second dug into Van Morrison’s “And It Stoned Me” and Robert Johnson’s “Stop Breakin’ Down Blues” before “Conrad,” and the encore paired “Me and the Devil Blues” with Buffalo Springfield’s “Mr. Soul.” Guitarist Michael Houser, diagnosed with pancreatic cancer early the next year, died in August 2002. Twenty-five years later, the release preserves one of his last fall tours with the band.
