The Legacy Tour is, by design, a statement about ownership — of a catalog, of a history, of a performance legacy. That it brings John Fogerty back to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on Sunday, September 13, 2026, to the same Sullivan County hillside where Creedence Clearwater Revival played Woodstock in 1969, gives that statement a setting no publicist could have manufactured.
About John Fogerty & Steve Winwood
Fogerty regained control of his publishing rights in January 2023, ending a legal separation from his own catalog that lasted decades. The reunion of man and material has been productive: Legacy: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Years, released in August 2025 on Concord Records, features newly recorded versions of 20 CCR classics produced alongside his sons Shane and Tyler. “Proud Mary,” “Fortunate Son,” and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” — each now past two billion streams — get the treatment. The tour is the live extension of that argument. Adding to the moment’s cumulative weight, Fogerty is set to receive the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s Johnny Mercer Award, the organization’s highest honor, at a June 2026 ceremony in New York City. He has sold over 100 million records worldwide. The biography is not the point; the songs are.
Co-headlining is Steve Winwood, which elevates this beyond a nostalgia evening into something with a broader musical claim. Winwood emerged at age 15 with the Spencer Davis Group, co-founded Traffic, then helped form the supergroup Blind Faith alongside Eric Clapton — all before a solo run that produced “Higher Love” and “Valerie.” He is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and BMI Icon, and his presence here is not ceremonial. Two catalogs of genuine consequence, one Hudson Valley evening.
