Ann Wilson is not coming to Bethel to sing. On Friday, May 29, the Heart frontwoman appears at the Event Gallery at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts for a screening of In My Voice, her new documentary directed by Barbara Hall, followed by a live Q&A with both Wilson and Hall in the room. This is a film event — an intimate sit-down with an artist who has spent decades filling arenas — and the format says something about where Ann Wilson is in 2026.
The documentary traces her 75-year journey from a nomadic childhood through the arena-rock years with Heart, the industry’s machinations, and the 2024 cancer diagnosis that forced the band to step back from touring. Following successful chemotherapy, Wilson returned to the stage with Heart in 2025. The film draws from personal archives — home movies, photographs, journals, previously unreleased footage — and by Wilson’s own account does not soften the record: “It’s not a whitewash. There’s a lot of stuff covered and we don’t try and hide anything.” Heart’s debut album Dreamboat Annie recently passed its 50th anniversary; the documentary lands at a moment when Wilson’s legacy carries genuine retrospective weight.
Director Barbara Hall brings serious nonfiction credentials to the project — Prime-Time Emmy-nominated, with prior work on Loretta Lynn, Wynonna Judd, Patsy Cline, and Charley Pride. The 10-city North American tour kicks off May 11 in Seattle and reaches Bethel as its seventh stop, two days after the New York City date. Wilson’s side project Tripsitter is set to perform later this summer; a full Heart return is planned for 2027.
About the Venue
Bethel Woods Center for the Arts sits on the grounds of the 1969 Woodstock festival in Hudson Valley, and the site has always carried more historical freight than a standard amphitheater address. This screening takes place in the indoor Event Gallery — a contained setting suited to the format. Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the screening beginning at 8:00 PM. An optional plated multi-course dinner by Executive Chef Joel Trocino is available in the Museum as a pre-event offering. Exclusive In My Voice merchandise is sold on-site only and is not available through other channels.
