Ally Venable grew up on the blues in Kilgore, Texas, and by thirteen she had her own band, drawn to the guitar through Stevie Ray Vaughan’s approach — that sense of pressure and release in a note, the way a phrase can hold a room without quite resolving. By fourteen, she had an EP. By 2014 and 2015, she was winning Female Blues Guitarist of the Year at the East Texas Music Awards. The biography reads fast. What it doesn’t convey is what she has become in the years since: a Ruf Records artist six albums deep, with a touring history and a chart track record that put her well inside the current conversation about who is carrying this music forward.
About the Show
Venable plays Daryl’s House on Wednesday, November 4, behind her sixth studio album, Money & Power, released on Ruf Records in April 2025. The record follows Real Gone (2023), which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Blues Charts and spent more than a year in the top 100, earning notice from Classic Rock for what they described as her evolving songwriting maturity alongside her instrumental abilities. Money & Power was recorded at Nashville’s Soundstage Studios with producer and drummer Tom Hambridge and features guest appearances from Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Shemekia Copeland. Venable has described the album as “a sonic embodiment of a woman’s unstoppable ambition” — and the themes run through guitar work Guitar Player Magazine called “a stunner of gritty and/or sultry blues rock tunes embellished with lots of tasty guitar solos,” delivered in signature glitter dresses and black knee-high boots. She has toured in support of Buddy Guy and Kenny Wayne Shepherd across the US and performed on the Experience Hendrix Show at ACL Live in Austin. The Road Warrior Award from the Independent Blues Music Awards in 2022 reflects the touring schedule that has kept her in rooms like this throughout her career. No support act has been announced for the Pawling date.

Daryl’s House, at 130 NY-22 in Pawling, is a 300-capacity club in the Hudson Valley that grew out of Daryl Hall’s “Live from Daryl’s House” web series and opened in 2014 with the sensibility of that project informing how it presents music. The room closes the distance between the stage and the audience in a way that suits this kind of playing. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. EST; show at 7:00 p.m. All ages.
