If you have not been to Penn’s Peak, here is the short version: 1,800 seats tucked into the Appalachian Mountains above Jim Thorpe, PA, with the kind of setting that makes you want to arrive well before showtime. On September 25, the drive is going to be worth it.
On Friday, September 25, Penn’s Peak hosts Robin Trower — one of the essential British blues-rock guitarists and, at 81, a player who is still very much on his own terms. This show is part of his 2026 fall North American run, and it is a prime stop for anyone in the Hudson Valley area.
About Robin Trower
Trower came up through Procol Harum in the 1960s before launching a landmark solo career with Bridge of Sighs in 1974 — a gold record that shaped players from Steve Lukather to Metallica. His influences run through American blues royalty: Scotty Moore, B.B. King, Albert King, and Jimi Hendrix. His rig — a Fender Stratocaster through a Marshall amp — has not needed revisiting in fifty years.
He is not coasting on any of it. His 2025 studio album Come and Find Me (Provogue) has a strong R&B edge alongside the rock, and his January 2026 live release One Moment In Time: Live In The USA is a document of exactly why you catch him live. His own words: “It’s almost impossible to get to that point in the studio. It’s the sound of the guitar, it’s the volume, it’s the crowd.”
He tours as a three-piece with Richard Watts on vocals and bass and Chris Taggart on drums.
