Yellowman at The Falcon | August 6, 2026

By Meg Andersen · June 18, 2026

The Falcon in Marlboro holds 150 people. That is not a typo. When the King of the Dancehall is booked into a room that size, you do not wait around to see how tickets move.

Yellowman — Winston Foster — built the art of dancehall toasting into a cultural cornerstone in the early 1980s, bringing it to mainstream prominence when reggae needed a new voice. His 1983 album Zungguzungguguzungguzeng is considered a classic of the genre; the title track alone has been sampled in more than 52 recordings spanning dancehall, hip-hop, and reggaeton. He signed to CBS in 1984, appeared on Run-DMC’s “Roots Rap Reggae,” and earned the recognition of reggae legends Dennis Brown, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer. His title — King of the Dancehall — was not handed down by a marketing team. Fans named him that.

The backstory is as remarkable as the catalog. Yellowman overcame severe discrimination tied to his albinism, transforming a label people used to demean him into his professional brand and reshaping how a generation in Jamaica saw difference. He survived a cancer diagnosis at the peak of his career in 1984 and kept touring. In 2026 alone he has already played Portland, Seattle, London, and Manchester. Marlboro, New York is on the list.

The Falcon sits on Route 9W in Marlboro, right in the heart of the Hudson Valley. Dining runs from 5:30 to 9:00 pm on the night of the show; music starts at 7:30 pm. No reservation needed for bar seating or the dancefloor. Get there early, order dinner, and settle in before the set.

This is a split-bill show — a second act has not been announced at time of publication.

Tickets are available at The Falcon’s website. A Thursday night in August in the Hudson Valley does not get much better than this.
