Justin Boros discovered Irish dance at 15 after watching Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance on PBS, bought himself a pair of hard shoes, and spent the next year and a half teaching himself from VHS tapes in his parents’ basement, often until four in the morning. He then flew to Disney World and auditioned for the very production that had captivated him — at Epcot Center’s American Gardens Theatre. The next day, he had a spot in the cast. That discipline has propelled everything Boros has built since, and his latest creation, We Three Kings, The Irish Dance Christmas Sensation, arrives at the Clemens Center in Elmira on Monday, November 30 at 7:30 p.m.
About the Show
We Three Kings is a full theatrical production built around 20 accomplished Irish dancers and musicians moving through 22 scenes. The narrative draws from the tradition of the Three Magi journeying westward alongside Clara and her Knights, until they encounter the Sugar Plum Fairy and her forces, cast here as the villains threatening to extinguish the Christmas Spirit and claim the kingdom’s crown. Boros, who created, wrote, produced, and directed the show, also stars as King Balthazar.
The musical ambition is central to the production’s identity. The show features an original holiday score by award-winning composer Joe Sanders, which observers have called “a cinematic Holiday masterpiece.” Boros’s stated aim was “to bring together our favorite Holiday traditions with the exciting storytelling and rhythms of Irish dance to create an inspiring and magical Christmas experience for the entire family.” The production pairs that score with state-of-the-art lighting. One Irish dance publication compared the choreography to Lord of the Dance and Celtic Tiger in terms of scale. Boros previously created Rhythm in the Night, The Irish Dance Spectacular; We Three Kings is his most ambitious production yet.
The 2026 run is the show’s national tour debut: 19 performances across the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast, running November 19 through December 20. The Clemens Center date is part of that inaugural run. The show runs 1 hour 50 minutes with a 15-minute intermission, and carries an all-ages designation.
