Carolyn Wonderland ft. Cindy Cashdollar & Shelley King at Colony Woodstock | October 2, 2026

By Nate Calloway · August 25, 2026

Bob Dylan once said Carolyn Wonderland “should be nationwide,” and he wasn’t wrong about her talent; what he didn’t account for was what she can do in a room with 150 seats and nowhere to hide. On Friday, October 2, Wonderland brings her Texas blues to Colony Woodstock, joined by Cindy Cashdollar and Shelley King, for a show billed to run approximately three hours.

About the Show

Wonderland grew up in Houston, picking up her mother’s vintage Martin at age six and developing a signature fingerpicking attack after being forbidden from using a pick. She has since spent her career on the road with musicians who defined the form: Townes Van Zandt, Levon Helm, Buddy Guy, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan. In 2018, she became the first woman to serve as lead guitarist for John Mayall’s Blues Breakers. Her latest album, Truth Is, produced by Dave Alvin and released on Alligator Records, carries 12 tracks — 10 originals and co-writes — dedicated to her late mentors John Mayall and pianist Gene Taylor. Industry writer Bill Bentley described her ability to absorb a song into “her own world” as “the mark of an all-timer.” The album reached #1 on the Living Blues Radio Chart and the Roots Music Report Blues and Texas Album Charts.

Cashdollar and King are not background players. Cashdollar (Dobro, lap steel, and steel guitar) won five Grammy Awards during nine years with Asleep at the Wheel, played on Bob Dylan’s Grammy-winning Time Out of Mind, and in 2022 was added to the Country Music Hall of Fame’s Nashville Cats roster. She was the first woman inducted into the Texas Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. King has been touring extensively with Wonderland’s band; named the first female Official Texas State Musician by the Texas Legislature, she released her 10th album, Madam Mystic, with New Orleans musicians from the subdudes, recorded across sessions in Colorado, Austin, Muscle Shoals, and Woodstock. All three appear on each other’s recent work.

Venue & Logistics

Colony Woodstock sits on Rock City Road in Woodstock, in the Hudson Valley. For Cashdollar, this one runs deeper than most dates on a tour: she grew up here, developing her talent alongside Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Paul Butterfield, and Happy and Artie Traum before her career took her to Nashville and around the world. Coming back to play Colony alongside two artists whose names appear all over her recent work makes this something closer to a homecoming than a tour stop. Doors open at 6 p.m.
