Boys Go To Jupiter makes the kind of indie-pop that earns the word “joyful” without apology — songs with enough heart, humor, and hooks to leave a room dancing one minute and reaching for a phone to text someone the lyrics the next. The Brooklyn trio makes a capital-region stop on The Floors and Walls Tour at Lark Hall in Albany on Wednesday, January 27.
About the Show
Caleb Martin-Rosenthal, Jess Kantorowitz, and Luke Volkert have been building toward a moment like this since their debut album Meet Me After Practice dropped in February 2025. That release launched a stretch of touring that included sold-out headline dates in Boston, Chicago, DC, and Philadelphia, a supporting run with Jukebox the Ghost, and multiple sold-out nights in New York City — at Music Hall of Williamsburg, Webster Hall, and The Hall at Elsewhere. The band performs both as a stripped-down trio and with a full six-piece ensemble, so the configuration on any given night can meaningfully shift the show’s texture.
Their newest release is Now You’re a Circle, an EP out via High Rotation Records, and the band is currently recording its next project. Recent single “Just So You Know” showed the group pushing forward — but it is the hooks that stay with you. Spinning Platters put it plainly: they “caught my ear and my heart with their nostalgia-inducing lyrics and youthful indie pop sound.” There is something about a Boys Go To Jupiter chorus that feels immediately familiar, like a song you have been carrying around without quite knowing it.
The Floors and Walls Tour is winding toward a hometown finale at Irving Plaza in New York City on February 13. The Albany stop falls midway through a tight Northeast run — Buffalo the night before, Amherst the night after — which means the band arrives road-sharp and in the groove.
