If you have been watching Derek Hough win Dancing with the Stars six times and then critique everyone else from the judges’ table, you know he does not do anything halfway. His Symphony of Dance: ENCORE tour brings 40 cities worth of proof — and Rochester gets the Saturday night slot on July 25 at Kodak Center Main Theater.
About Derek Hough
Hough started dancing at 11 in Salt Lake City, trained at London’s Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts alongside sister Julianne, and never really looked back. He spent nearly a decade as a professional on Dancing with the Stars — six Mirror Ball trophies before moving to the judges’ panel in Season 29 — and his choreography has earned him 14 Emmy nominations and four wins for Outstanding Choreography.
Symphony of Dance: ENCORE is billed as his most dynamic live experience yet. Napoleon and Tabitha Dumo (NappyTabs) are co-creating, directing, and choreographing — two-time Emmy winners with credits including Jennifer Lopez and the Grammy Awards. Production is by Greg Young of Mojave Ghost, a Tony Award-nominated producer with Broadway and Vegas residency credits. The show blends ballroom, tap, salsa, and hip-hop with live music and dynamic visuals. Hough’s previous tours — Symphony of Dance, Dance for the Holidays, and Live: The Tour — all sold out. Plan accordingly.
About Kodak Center
Kodak Center Main Theater is a solid room for a touring production like this, and Rochester on a summer Saturday has its own energy. On-site parking is cashless: general spots run $15, premium is $25, and handicap parking is available. The bag policy is strict — nothing over 8.5″×6″×11″ gets in, so leave the oversized bag in the car. The box office is open Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 2 PM if you need to sort anything in person. Special accommodations are available with advance notice.
Worth knowing before you check out: Kodak Center Lounge passes can be added at checkout if your group wants a more comfortable pre-show setup.
Tickets & Pricing
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or at the Kodak Center box office (Mon–Fri, 10 AM–2 PM). VIP packages include exclusive pre-show parties, premium seating, and meet-and-greet opportunities — worth a look if this is your kind of night. Get your tickets here. The tour is presented by Stifel.
