Home Free has spent more than a decade proving that country music doesn’t require a single instrument. Five properly deployed voices will do. The all-vocal quintet arrives at The Showroom at Turning Stone Resort Casino on Saturday, April 24, carrying a Highways & High Seas Tour that Turning Stone originally had on the calendar for last August before it was rescheduled to this spring.

About the Show

The tour title is doing some real work. The “highways” portion covers Home Free’s long-established territory: Nashville-dipped pop hits, country and western standards, and the quick-witted humor that defines their live sets, part harmony revue and part comedy showcase by the group’s own description. The “high seas” half draws directly on Challenge the Sea, the group’s 2025 full-length: 16 sea shanty and maritime folk songs arranged for five voices, executive produced by the band alongside Luke Pierce.

It’s a less obvious pivot than it might sound. “We pride ourselves in our diverse taste in music, with songs of the old world and the sea having always been a part of that,” member Adam Chance said of the project. The album followed Home Free’s viral Sea Shanty Medley, which accumulated 4.4 billion views across social platforms — a figure that explains why they committed the concept to a full LP rather than leaving it as a YouTube moment.

The quintet (Rob Lundquist, Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, Adam Chance, and Adam Bastien) formed in Mankato, Minnesota in 2000 and won NBC’s The Sing-Off in 2013, the moment the wider country audience caught up to what the group had already been building for over a decade. So Long Dixie (2022) reached number one on Billboard’s Current Country Albums chart, with multiple subsequent releases landing in the Top 3. Taste of Country has credited them as “Country music fans’ favorite a cappella group.” No support act has been announced for the Turning Stone date.

Venue & Logistics

The Showroom at Turning Stone Resort Casino sits in Verona, in central New York, with a 5,000-seat capacity that makes it one of the larger theaters in the region without crossing into arena territory. The venue promotes state-of-the-art lighting and sound, which matters for a group delivering five-voice arrangements without any instrumental backing.
