Chicago (Band) at Proctors | June 24, 2026
Here is what is worth knowing before you buy: Chicago arrives at Proctors on June 24th as a different band than the one that played SPAC last summer. Robert Lamm and James Pankow — founding members who helped shape this band’s sound for nearly six decades — stepped away from touring in April 2026. Lee Loughnane, the trumpet player who has been on the road since Chicago formed in 1967, is now the only original member still touring. Neil Donell fronts the current lineup. That context matters, and you should have it going in.
What a lineup change does not touch is the catalog. “25 or 6 to 4.” “Saturday in the Park.” “If You Leave Me Now.” “Hard to Say I’m Sorry.” “You’re the Inspiration.” Thirty-eight albums. Over 100 million records sold worldwide. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees in 2016 — Rob Thomas put it simply at the ceremony: “These songs are the sound of a city.” The music is still the music.
Proctors is a good room for a band with this kind of history. The historic theater on State Street in downtown Schenectady has been open since December 1926 and seats 2,646 — large enough for a full production, but the kind of room where a brass section fills the air the way it should. This is also a standalone date before Chicago launches its co-headlining Windy Cities Tour with Styx in July, so you are getting them in a theater setting rather than an amphitheater. That is worth something.
Proctors is located at 432 State Street in downtown Schenectady in the Albany / Capital District. Showtime is 7:30 PM. Give yourself time to get settled before the show.
