Tom Hamilton at Lark Hall | September 17, 2026

By Meg Andersen · July 24, 2026

Tom Hamilton spent most of his career working under a band name — Brothers Past, American Babies, Ghost Light, and most recently Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, the contemporary Grateful Dead tribute ensemble he still holds monthly commitments with. In 2026, he finally put his own name at the top. The debut solo album that followed, I’m Your Vampire, sounds like it was waiting a long time to be made. He brings the full band to Lark Hall in Albany on Thursday, September 17.

About the Show

Released January 23, 2026 via AWAL/Relix, I’m Your Vampire was co-produced with Alex Farrar (whose recent credits include MJ Lenderman, Waxahatchee, and Wednesday) and represents Hamilton’s most personal work to date. He has described it as “a 10-song suite wreathed in tattered-flannel rock & roll,” written around the question of how to resist growing jaded as we get older. “I feel like I’m in a new era of my creativity,” he told The Pop Break in January. Of the record itself, he said simply: “There’s no bullshit in there.” The band assembled around him is substantial: Taylor Shell on bass, Tom McKee on keys (Hamilton and McKee have played together since 1998, dating back to Brothers Past), Nick Paternostro on drums, and Rachel Cole on backup vocals — the first time Hamilton has brought a backup singer on the road. Live sets draw from the album alongside covers from Screaming Trees, Alice in Chains, and The Cure. Hamilton has described the live experience as “good songs, heavy jamming, and just having a good time.”

Venue & Logistics

This is a return booking. Hamilton played Lark Hall on February 7, 2026, as part of his Northeast run, so he and the band already know the room. The building, which dates to 1916 and was once owned by the Daughters of the Eastern Star, now describes itself as “an inclusive space” bringing music and community to the Village, the neighborhood around Hudson Avenue that it calls its home turf. Capacity is 300 standing. Doors open at 7 p.m.; show runs 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. All ages; under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Parking is free. Albany is a reasonable drive from most of the Capital Region and central upstate New York.
