October in the Capital District has its own pull, and Proctors on State Street is the kind of room that earns the drive — 2,646 seats, a proper theater in the middle of downtown Schenectady. On Sunday, October 11, Best Of The Eagles plays there at 7:30 PM. If you have been looking for a reason to make the trip, this is it.
About Best Of The Eagles
Best Of The Eagles has been at this since 2012, founded by central New Jersey guitarist Joe Vadala around a single premise: play the Eagles’ music with the precision and commitment the songs deserve. Every member of BOTE mirrors their Eagles counterpart instrumentally and vocally — lead duties rotate through the band the same way they did in the original. As Vadala puts it: “I love the fact that The Eagles share lead vocals.” That structural choice is what separates a good tribute from a great one, and it shows in the room.
The credentials here are real. Jerry Steele has done session work with Emmylou Harris, Buddy Miller, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Nile Rodgers. Dave “Squiggy” Biglin on keyboards has performed with Art Garfunkel and Steve Howe of Yes. Anthony Krizan co-wrote Lenny Kravitz’s “Stand By My Woman” and played guitar with the Spin Doctors. John Bushnell holds an Ibanez guitar endorsement and has recorded for Sutra and Epic Records. The band has sold out the 1,700-seat Count Basie Theater in New Jersey and Ike’s Hall at West Point — rooms that do not forgive a weak show.
The setlist covers the catalog you came for — “Hotel California,” “Take It to the Limit,” “Heartache Tonight” — in a room with 2,646 seats to fill.
