Outlander in Concert: Echoes Through The Highlands at Paramount Hudson Valley | October 8, 2026

By Nate Calloway · August 16, 2026

There are instruments that carry their histories with them: the fiddle, the bagpipe, the hurdy-gurdy. Bear McCreary understood this when he built the score for Outlander. His Emmy Award-winning work drew from the Celtic tradition not as costume but as architecture, and on Thursday, October 8, that score arrives at the Paramount Hudson Valley in Peekskill in its fullest form — played live by a full orchestra, alongside eight seasons of the series that made “The Skye Boat Song” one of the most-recognized television themes in the world.

About the Show

Outlander in Concert: Echoes Through The Highlands is an officially licensed live concert experience produced by GEA Live and Sony Pictures Television, created in collaboration with series showrunner Matthew B. Roberts and composer McCreary. Based on Diana Gabaldon’s internationally bestselling novels, the series stars Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan as Claire and Jamie Fraser, tracing their story across eight seasons. The concert pairs a live orchestral performance, featuring traditional Scottish instruments including bagpipes, fiddles, and the hurdy-gurdy, with curated scenes from all eight seasons projected on a cinema-scale screen. The production follows Claire and Jamie’s journey from Craigh na Dun to the New World, moving through themes of love, loss, and the sweeping landscapes that define the series.

The concert premiered in Scotland, the show’s spiritual home, on May 30, 2026, before embarking on a tour spanning more than 75 cities across North America and Europe. The North American leg launched September 26 at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn. Each performance runs approximately two hours, including a 20-minute intermission.

McCreary is a three-time Emmy winner whose credits span The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Foundation, and the God of War video game franchise, where his work earned two BAFTA Awards and two Grammy nominations. He began his career as a protégé of composer Elmer Bernstein. Across seven soundtracks, the Outlander franchise has generated 500 million streams across 236 territories, with “The Skye Boat Song” crossing 49 million plays and standing as the best-selling soundtrack title in Sony Pictures Television’s catalog.
