Three British rock acts. One night in Troy. And if you need more reason than that, here it is: this is the final stop on a 19-city fall tour, which means the energy walking into Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on September 30th is going to be running high.
A Tour Closer Worth the Drive
The Fixx — the London-formed New Wave band behind MTV-era staples “One Thing Leads to Another,” “Saved by Zero,” and “Red Skies” — are headlining alongside two supporting acts that make this more than a standard nostalgia package. Colin Blunstone, now performing as “The Voice of the Zombies” following Rod Argent’s retirement after a 2024 stroke, brings the vocal catalog that made The Zombies legends. Expect classics like “She’s Not There” and “Time of the Season” alongside his solo work. Blunstone and The Zombies were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
Then there’s Peter Asher, of Peter & Gordon, whose 1964 million-selling single “A World Without Love” is as British Invasion as it gets. These days he tours in a “Songs & Stories” format — weaving in history from his 2019 memoir The Beatles From A to Zed alongside the hits. His post-performance career as an award-winning producer and manager for Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, and Barbra Streisand gives him more than enough stories to fill the gaps between songs.
The Fixx, for their part, are not running on fumes. The current lineup — Cy Curnin, Rupert Greenall, Jamie West-Oram, Adam Woods, and Dan K. Brown — released Every Five Seconds in 2022, which means there’s forward motion here, not just back catalog.
