Jeff Dunham at The Palace Theatre Albany | November 4, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · July 20, 2026

Jeff Dunham has not gotten this far on trick photography. Three consecutive Billboard Top Comedy Tour awards, a Guinness World Record for most tickets sold on a stand-up comedy tour, Forbes billing him as the third highest-paid comedian in the country, and a Comedy Central special that remains the network’s highest-rated program of all time — the ventriloquist-comedian raised outside Dallas has built one of the more durable careers in live comedy. The Inappropriate Contact Tour brings him back to Albany on Wednesday, November 4, this time at the Palace Theatre.

About the Show

The full title is Inappropriate Contact: The Tour Is Out There, which gives you a reasonable sense of the evening’s ambitions. Dunham began performing with a dummy at age 9 after receiving one as a Christmas gift; by the time he reached college he was playing regular venues, and his career progressed from comedy clubs to arena shows alongside major musical acts, a trajectory that has placed him in more than 20 countries. Along the way he developed a cast of characters built around what he has described as the ability to say “what nobody else would dare.” That cast includes Walter, a cantankerous older man whose grievances have not diminished over the years; Peanut, the hyperactive wildcard; Jose the Jalapeno on a Stick; Bubba J, a NASCAR enthusiast; Achmed the Dead Terrorist; and Url, whose social media addiction gives the act its contemporary edge. TIME once characterized the whole enterprise as “a dressed-down, more digestible version of Don Rickles with multiple personality disorder”; Slate has called him “America’s favorite comedian.” A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and television credits including NBC’s 30 Rock and two A&E Biography documentaries fill out a career built across decades of touring. There is no opening act on this run. Dunham and the puppets handle the full evening, a format consistent across a schedule that has spanned arenas, performing arts centers, and a Las Vegas residency at PH Live at Planet Hollywood throughout 2025–2026.

The Palace Theatre at 19 Clinton Avenue in downtown Albany is a 1931 Austrian Baroque movie palace — the kind of room that makes a case for itself before the house lights drop. The show is a Capital Region stop on a broad North American circuit. Showtime is 7:00 p.m.
