Relevé Dance Company brings their sixth annual production to Rockwell Hall this Saturday afternoon — and if you have been looking for a reason to finally make the trip to the performing arts center on Elmwood Avenue, this is a good one.
About ClasSix! and Relevé Dance Company
The name is exactly what it sounds like: “Classics” meets “Six.” ClasSix! is the Season 6 showcase from Relevé Dance Company, the Clarence Center studio founded by Lindsay Mangione in the summer of 2020 — a pandemic-era project that started with a renovated gym and turned into a full three-studio facility. The company’s motto is “We Dance… Together, We Rise,” and the approach backs it up: students ages 2–18 train in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and fitness disciplines, and the annual production is where all of that year’s work lands on stage.
Relevé has earned a Clarence Center Business Hall of Fame induction and the 2024 Best of Clarence Center Award in the Dance Company category. This is also their second consecutive year bringing their production to Rockwell Hall — you don’t keep coming back to the same venue if it isn’t working.
About the Venue
Buffalo State Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall has been part of the Buffalo / Western NY arts scene since 1931. The 856-seat hall sits on Elmwood Avenue as one of five Georgian-style buildings constructed as the centerpiece of Buffalo State’s campus — a proper performance space built to have a full house in it. The box office is open Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM, and stays open an extra hour before curtain on performance days.
Saturday has two performances of ClasSix!: a morning show at 11:00 AM and this afternoon show at 2:30 PM. Plan your arrival accordingly.
