M.O.D. is coming to Empire Underground on July 19, 2026, doors at 2:30 PM, and with only eight tickets left as of this writing, the window to get in is closing fast.
About M.O.D.
Method of Destruction is the New York City crossover thrash outfit that Billy Milano built in 1986 after the breakup of Stormtroopers of Death. If S.O.D. helped write the playbook for welding hardcore punk velocity to thrash metal heft, M.O.D. spent the next four decades proving that formula still has teeth — gang vocals, sledgehammer rhythms, and chainsaw guitars that leave no ambiguity about what you came for.
Milano, a Bronx native and the only consistent member through a rotating cast of lineups, has steered the band through multiple hiatuses and reformations across a 40-year run. Eight studio albums deep — most recently Busted, Broke and American on Megaforce Records (2017) — and still actively touring the Northeast, this run carries the billing “The Return of M.O.D.” Sets reportedly clock in at 90 minutes to two hours. For a show that kicks off at 2:30 PM on a Sunday, you are still walking out while there is daylight left. Not a bad trade.
The Venue
Empire Underground, at 93 N Pearl St in downtown Albany, is a 500-capacity club — the right size for a band like this. Close enough to the stage that you feel everything, large enough that you have room to move when things get going. It is a fixture of the Albany / Capital District heavy music scene and has made a habit of booking bands that know exactly what to do with a room this size.
Albany is roughly two hours from Syracuse and about an hour from most of the Hudson Valley. Pearl Street drops you right into the heart of downtown, so give yourself some extra time on arrival — street parking in that neighborhood goes faster than you would expect on a show day.
