If you’re going to drive to Buffalo for a show the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, Rival Sons is a very good reason to do it. The California blues-rock band hits Town Ballroom on November 24 as part of their 24-date fall run — the Domestic Bliss Tour — and the timing here is actually friendlier than it looks on the calendar. Doors at 6:30 PM on a Tuesday night means you’re in early, and a short drive home before the long weekend gets crowded is a real advantage.
About Town Ballroom
Town Ballroom is a 1,000-capacity standing room venue on S. Main Street in Buffalo / Western NY — and standing room is the right way to see Rival Sons. This isn’t a band you watch from a seat. The floor fills in around you, the stage is right there, and the show starts doing what it should. If you haven’t been to Town Ballroom before, now is a good time to fix that.
About Rival Sons
Rival Sons — fronted by vocalist Jay Buchanan alongside guitarist Scott Holiday — have spent the better part of their career making a case for pure, unvarnished rock ‘n’ roll. Their 2023 companion albums DARKFIGHTER and LIGHTBRINGER arrived as a pair, two records built to be heard together. In late 2024 they released A Pair of Aces: Live from Santa Catalina Island, a double live album that does exactly what it sounds like. Worth queuing up before you go.
The credentials are there: Grammy-nominated for FERAL ROOTS in 2019, “Do Your Worst” at #1 on Rock Radio with over 60 million streams, hand-picked by Black Sabbath for their final tour, and a touring history that includes shared stages with The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, and Guns N’ Roses. Frontman Buchanan on the Domestic Bliss Tour: “get out there and run it hot for a minute.” They mean it.
