Geoff Tate at Penn’s Peak | November 21, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · April 7, 2026

Penn’s Peak sits on top of a mountain in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, and if you have never made the drive out, the venue itself makes a case for going. Lofty ceilings, a spacious dance floor, a full-service restaurant called Roadies built right in — it is the kind of room that makes a big show feel like an event. On Saturday, November 21, Geoff Tate brings his Operation: Mindcrime – The Final Chapter tour to the stage at 8:00 PM.

About Geoff Tate

Tate was the founding vocalist of Queensrÿche — the operatic tenor who defined what progressive metal could sound like before most of the genre knew what it was. Operation: Mindcrime, the landmark 1988 concept album, is the reason people still talk about Queensrÿche in the same breath as the genre’s all-time greats. The record is a theatrical narrative: a drug addict drawn into a political assassination conspiracy, told across a suite of interlocking songs that demand to be heard in sequence.

After departing Queensrÿche, Tate retained the rights to the Mindcrime name and launched the Operation: Mindcrime trilogy (2015–2017), a three-album collaborative project. His current tour performs the original 1988 album in full — from “I Remember Now” through “Revolution Calling,” “Suite Sister Mary,” “The Needle Lies,” and the rest — with the theatrical framing the material has always deserved. Plan on roughly 90 minutes.

Penn’s Peak

Penn’s Peak holds 1,800, which gives the room enough scale to fill out the sound without losing the energy. It is a mountaintop venue with high ceilings, a concert bar and concession area, a spacious dance floor, and Roadies — a full-service restaurant and bar on-site — if you want to make a night of it before the show. The venue is part of the Hudson Valley coverage area on Upstate Concerts.
