Midwinter at Montage Music Hall | November 5, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · August 16, 2026

Midwinter’s sophomore album arrived in April with a title that doubles as an itinerary: A Love I Hope Will Haunt Me Forever. The Haunt Me Forever Tour lands in Rochester on Thursday, November 5, when the Cleveland five-piece plays Montage Music Hall with support from What Lies Below and Coldstate.

About the Show

The album was released April 16 on Papercut Recordings, a label founded by members of Brand Of Sacrifice and Fit For A King — a metalcore lineage that tends to attract bands operating at a certain level of ambition. Midwinter signed with Papercut in February 2026, and the record is their first full-length under that arrangement.

The five-piece (Billy Toth and Kody Archer on vocals, Zac D’Urso on guitar and sound design, Nate Rosenhaus on drums, Max Underwood on bass) works at the intersection of progressive metalcore and thall, a subgenre built on slow, dissonant, rhythmically destabilizing riffs. Against that foundation, the album layers what the band describes as “lush ambient layers” alongside “glitchy textures, dissonant melodies, and experimental production techniques that push genre boundaries.” The result is a record that moves between crushing and genuinely delicate — a tension the live show will have to honor.

“This album came from a really personal place for us,” the band said at the time of the April release. “It’s about losing someone you love and trying to make sense of everything that comes after — the doubt, the anger, the quiet moments where it all sinks in. Sonically, we let ourselves experiment and push into heavier, stranger territory, somewhere between progressive metalcore and thall with a specific emphasis on sound design.”

Music videos for “Eager Tides” and “Hourglass” accompanied the album’s release. The Haunt Me Forever Tour continues through November, with confirmed dates in New Kensington, PA (November 11), St. Louis, MO (November 13), and Detroit, MI (November 20). Promoter: After Dark Presents.

Venue & Logistics

Montage Music Hall is a club-level room in Rochester well-suited to this kind of show. Midwinter’s sound, the interplay between heavy instrumentation and atmospheric production, tends to land differently at close range, where the quieter passages have nowhere to dissipate. Doors at 6:00 p.m., show at 7:00 p.m. The show is 16 and up; those under 16 are admitted with a parent or legal guardian.
