PeelingFlesh at Empire Live | October 17, 2026

By Rachel Torrey · July 31, 2026

PeelingFlesh call their sound “Slamming Gangster Groove” — not a brand, a description. Ghost Cult rated their debut full-length The G Code 9/10, and reviewers have consistently flagged the live show as the real argument for the genre blend. On October 17, they hit Empire Live behind a forthcoming self-titled record and a 29-stop fall headlining run.

About the Show

Formed in 2021 in Oklahoma City from members of deathcore band Strangled, PeelingFlesh built their catalog fast. The G Code (Unique Leader Records, 2024) is a sub-30-minute record of slams, rap interludes, and guest appearances. Ghost Cult reviewer Tim Ledin described it as built with “tremolo picking on the main riff” for the metal crowd and “breakdown/slam part with distorted rap samples” for hardcore listeners, with track “Shoot 2 Kill” as the crossover calling card. The band’s split EP _OKC X GTHC_ with Hounds of War (Slamnasium Recordings) further planted them in the hardcore underground, including a collaboration with Grounds For Assault. The hardcore tie-ins aren’t incidental; they’re built into the band’s DNA. PF Radio 2 (2025) pushed the sound further, landing “somewhere between technical slam, beatdown, and unrestrained brutality.” Late 2024 brought the “Death and Decay” North American tour alongside Whitechapel and Revocation. In 2026 alone: Japan headlining dates in March, support slots for Sanguisugabogg in Australia, appearances at Louder Than Life and Monster Energy Aftershock.

The fall 2026 headlining run spans 29 dates, October 2 through 30, supporting the forthcoming self-titled album produced by Dave Otero, whose credits include Cattle Decapitation and Archspire. The album’s release date hasn’t been announced; the tour is tied to its launch. The band put it their way: “THIS FALL WE DOING AN ALBUM RELEASE TOUR WITH OUR FUCKIN HOMIES!!!! WHOLE LOTTA GANG SHI.” Support acts rotate across eight slots on select dates; no Albany-specific opener has been confirmed. October 17 in Albany falls between New Kensington, PA on the 15th and Brooklyn on the 18th.
