Dokken and Lynch Mob at Penn’s Peak | October 9, 2026

By Meg Andersen · April 7, 2026

If you have been waiting for an excuse to make the drive to Jim Thorpe, here is your reason. Dokken brings their hard rock catalog to Penn’s Peak on Friday, October 9, with special guests Lynch Mob — and the night closes with something most fans have not seen in a while: an encore featuring both Don Dokken and George Lynch on the same stage. Doors open at 7:00 PM, show at 8:00 PM. Plan accordingly.

About Dokken

Dokken built their name out of the Los Angeles rock scene in the early 1980s on a specific tension — Don Dokken’s melodic vocals set against George Lynch’s aggressive guitar work. That friction produced hits like “Breaking the Chains” and “In My Dreams” and albums that hold up decades later: Tooth and Nail (1984), Under Lock and Key (1985), and Back for the Attack (1987), which reached No. 13 in the US and gave the world “Dream Warriors” from the A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 soundtrack. Don Dokken himself put it plainly: he was a melodic singer, Lynch was an aggressive, heavy guitarist — and that combination was the whole thing.

The current touring lineup is Don Dokken on vocals, Mick Brown on drums, Jon Levin on guitar, and Chris McCarvill on bass. Opening the night is Lynch Mob, the band George Lynch founded after parting ways with Dokken in 1989. And about that encore: Penn’s Peak’s own event listing specifically calls out a “Don & George” shared performance to close the night. Whether you are a long-time fan or someone who grew up hearing these songs without knowing the name behind them, that is a moment worth showing up early for.

About Penn’s Peak

Hudson Valley road trippers, note: Penn’s Peak sits in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, deep in the Poconos — it is a real drive, but the kind of room that makes you glad you made it. The box office is open Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM, and tickets are also available at the Roadies hostess stand if you want to skip the internet entirely.
