Old Crow Medicine Show at Penn’s Peak | October 17, 2026

Jim Thorpe is worth the drive for a lot of reasons, but a show at Penn’s Peak is one of the best excuses to make it. The venue sits on a ridge above the Lehigh Valley with a 50-mile panoramic view and a rustic, high-ceilinged room built around a wide dance floor. It holds 1,800 people, has a full-service restaurant and bar called Roadies on-site, and feels like exactly the kind of room that earns the trip. On Saturday, October 17, Old Crow Medicine Show brings their Union Made Tour here at 8:00 PM — with special guest Palmyra.

About Old Crow Medicine Show

These six musicians started as street buskers in Western North Carolina before “Americana” was even a radio category. They have been at it for more than 27 years, released ten studio albums — every single one hitting number one on the Bluegrass Albums chart — and collected two Grammy Awards along the way. They are Grand Ole Opry members. Frontman Ketch Secor transformed a discarded Bob Dylan chorus fragment into “Wagon Wheel,” which tells you everything about how this band thinks: find the song inside the song.

Their new record, Union Made, drops June 5 via Hartland Records. Produced by bassist Morgan Jahnig at their East Nashville studio, it is their most collaborative album yet — featuring Molly Tuttle, Luke Combs, Del and Ronnie McCoury, Evan Felker of Turnpike Troubadours, Maggie Rose, and John Carter Cash. Lead single “My Side of the Mountain” is a three-way co-write between Secor, Tuttle, and Combs that celebrates Appalachian culture. This fall run is the road trip leg for that record.

Special guest Palmyra — a Virginia-based trio whose debut LP, Restless, is out now on Oh Boy Records — opens the night. They write about grief, identity, and coming of age in music that moves between folk, soul, and post-rock. A genuinely interesting pairing for this bill.

Penn’s Peak

Penn’s Peak is at 325 Maury Road, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. Plan to eat at Roadies, their full-service restaurant and bar, before the show — there is not much within walking distance, and it is a mountain road venue. Factor that into your departure time.
