Penn’s Peak is the kind of mountaintop room that makes you wonder why it took you this long to make the drive. Add Hollywood Nights — a nine-piece Bob Seger tribute rated 4.8 out of 5 stars by more than a hundred Ticketmaster reviewers — and Saturday, November 7 is a night worth building a weekend around.
About Hollywood Nights
Hollywood Nights is a nine-piece New Jersey ensemble built to put a Bob Seger show on stage, note for note. Lead vocalist Rick Murphy handles Seger’s raspy delivery, and three background singers round out the full Silver Bullet Band sound. A Times News reviewer who caught them at Penn’s Peak called it “a full, rich sound that went a long way to replicating Seger’s Silver Bullet Band.” Fans consistently call it the best tribute show they have ever seen.
Expect classics: “Night Moves,” “Turn the Page,” “Old Time Rock & Roll,” “We’ve Got Tonight,” and “Hollywood Nights.” The band has played Penn’s Peak before — and this is not a show you want to catch at the back end of availability. Third-party ticketing sites are already flagging near sell-out status for November 7.
About Penn’s Peak
Penn’s Peak sits on a mountaintop above Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania — about two hours from Syracuse — with panoramic views that stretch for fifty miles. The venue holds up to 1,800 people, but the rustic interior, lofty ceilings, and a proper dance floor make it feel more intimate than that number suggests. Roadies Restaurant and Bar is on-site: arrive early, eat before showtime, and you have the evening handled before the first note.
Jim Thorpe is worth the early arrival. It is a walkable mountain town with enough character to turn a concert trip into a full day out. If you are building a fall road-trip calendar across the Hudson Valley region, this one belongs on it.
