Zoso is not trying to be Led Zeppelin — they are trying to preserve what it felt like to see Led Zeppelin, and after 31 years and over 4,900 performances worldwide, that project has become its own kind of institution. On Saturday, December 19, the band arrives at The Vine at del Lago Resort & Casino in Waterloo.
About the Show
Founded in 1995 by vocalist Matt Jernigan and multi-instrumentalist Adam Sandling, Zoso has been at this longer than Led Zeppelin themselves were a working band: 31 years against the original group’s roughly 12. That kind of tenure demands explanation, and the band offers one in the form of range and specificity. Sandling handles bass, keyboards, and mandolin, giving the group the ability to perform fully arranged versions of Zeppelin’s catalog rather than guitar-forward approximations stripped of their complexity. Drummer Bevan Davies has held the seat since 2015, carrying previous credits from Danzig and Static X; lead guitarist Holston Rainero joined in 2025 through an audition that originated on social media and was credited with bringing “a surprising technical mastery” to the Jimmy Page role. Their source material spans Led Zeppelin’s recorded live performances between 1970 and 1977, covering the full arc of Zeppelin’s touring years from the catalog’s best-known peaks to deeper album cuts, with the band’s stated aim of letting audiences “relive the live Zeppelin show as it was played back in the day.”
The critical record runs in one direction. The LA Times placed Zoso “head and shoulders above all other Led Zeppelin tributes.” The St. Petersburg Times called them “the most exacting.” The Chicago Sun-Times settled on “the closest to the original.” Three publications, multiple decades, multiple lineup changes — and the language has not materially shifted, which at some point stops reading as promotional copy and starts reading as an honest accounting of a band that has simply been very good at a very specific thing for a very long time.
Venue & Logistics
The Vine Theater at del Lago is a 1,400-capacity room inside a casino resort on Route 414 in Waterloo, in the Finger Lakes. The venue scale is appropriate: Zoso travels with the production demands of a full Zeppelin recreation, and the room has the physical space to absorb it without the show disappearing into it. The event carries a 21 & Over age restriction. Show time is 8:00 p.m.
