Alaska Thunderfuck at Higher Ground Ballroom | March 6, 2027

By Meg Andersen · September 16, 2026

Alaska Thunderfuck came off a sold-out Broadway run of Cole Escola’s Oh, Mary! — where she played Mary Todd Lincoln — then completed a national tour through January 2027, and went directly into a 55-date headlining run of her own. The Revolution Tour spans all 50 states, starting March 4 in Portland, Maine and closing May 15 in Boise, Idaho. Higher Ground Ballroom in South Burlington is the third stop: Saturday, March 6, 2027.

About the Show

CultureMap calls Alaska Thunderfuck “one of the most established drag artists in the country,” and her own bio describes her as “an extraterrestrial phenomenon from the planet Glamtr0n.” Both are probably right. She reached the final three on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 5, then came back and won All Stars Season 2. She co-wrote and starred in the Off-Broadway musical Drag: The Musical, alongside Tomas Costanza and Ash Gordon, which won an Outer Critics Circle award and collected nominations from the Drama League, the Dorian Theater World Awards, and the Lucille Lortel Awards. She co-founded the Moguls of Media podcast network, hosts the award-winning Race Chaser with Willam, and creates the experimental drag series Drag Show 5000 in Los Angeles. She also published a memoir, My Name’s Yours, What’s Alaska. Rolling Stone included two of her tracks in its 2024 “20 Best Songs By Drag Queens” feature.

The Brunette Album, released September 2026, is her latest studio record and the anchor for this run. CultureMap describes her live drag as “sleek fashion and tongue-in-cheek sleaze” — a show built as much on performance chops as on image. She tours with musical collaborator Handsome Jeremy. The South Burlington date lands just two days after the tour opener in Portland, Maine, before the run swings through Boston, New York City, and eventually across the country. This is an all-ages event, presented by Live Nation.

Venue & Logistics

Higher Ground is the Burlington metro’s primary room for national touring acts, and the Ballroom holds 750 — intimate enough that a sold-out Broadway performer playing here is a specific kind of evening. For anyone making the trip from the broader north-country region, South Burlington puts you just outside downtown Burlington. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
