This is the Waterhole’s signature summer move — its “Party on the Patio” series — and there is not a more quintessentially Fourth-of-July setup in the Adirondacks than this one. Small-town Main Street, Independence Day evening, a band that knows how to stretch out a song, and a venue that has been the heartbeat of Saranac Lake’s live-music scene for decades.
About Annie in the Water
Annie in the Water is a Capital Region five-piece — Brad Hester, Michael Lashomb, Josh West, Chris Meier, and Matt Richards — working a sound they file under “Americana indie rock,” though that label undersells the range. Folk, funk, reggae, soul, a little hip hop, and plenty of jam-band stretch all show up across a set, anchored to a rhythm section the group has been building since 2011. Their latest release, the 2025 EP Migration, leans into that range without losing the songcraft. They were last at the Waterhole in February 2025 for Winter Carnival, which made it pretty clear why the room keeps inviting them back.

The Waterhole sits right in the middle of downtown Saranac Lake at 48 Main Street — street parking, walkable dinner in every direction, a short stroll to the patio. This is the version of the venue you bring a non-show-going friend to: outdoor, easygoing, and no 21+ door (the indoor ticketed shows are 21+; the patio runs open). Owners Kiki and Eric run the place with a community-first energy that has made the room a regional anchor — locals, weekenders off the lakes, and traveling music heads in the same crowd.
